Sustainability Weekend at Folklore Village includes Irish music workshops in song, whistle, and guitar from master musicians Norah Rendell and Brian Miller, a Friday evening concert, and a Saturday night barn dance.
2018 Sep. 7, Fri.Wild Hog in the Woods Coffeehouse begins its 40th year with a special event concert performance by Aoife Scott, with Andy Meany. Aoife recently won the Irish Post's Music Awards 2018 for "Best Irish Folk Act." Her debut album "Carry the Day" (2016) contains story songs of personal, historic, and social significance for Aoife Scott. 7:30 pm, Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center, 953 Jenifer St. Madison, WI.
2018 Sep. 29, Sat.16th Annual Pipers in the Prairie & Festival Fire, fundraiser for children's environmental programs at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center, 4:30-8 pm. Family-friendly celebration of the harvest season featuring Celtic music and Irish dance; pipers in the prairie; hearty and decadent food; complimentary wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages; and more. Adult $75, children 5-17 $25, under 5 free.
