House Dance in Middleton POSTPONED to Sunday, August 6th

Hello, dancers,

Our house dance host, Jeanna, has had a death in the family and will be traveling home this weekend for services. The July 29th house dance will be postponed until Sunday, August 6th. Details below.

If you aren't able to join us on August 6th, we hope you'll join us at the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center for our beginner-friendly Saturday monthly dances with live music on August 12th (music by Rare Privilege!) and September 9th (music by Capitol Ceili Band!)!

House dance - Postponed to August 6th

We are hosting a house dance in Middleton on Sunday, August 6th, from 2-5pm. House dances are a time-honored tradition in the set dance world, bringing us back to our crowded cottage roots. The event will be informal and lots of fun!

Instead of dancing full set dances, we will be dancing, ceili dances, two-hand dances, and portions of set dances. Theresa is preparing to call dances for brand new dancers at Chicago Summerdance in August, so this house dance will be her practice run!

All dances will be taught at a beginner level, so this is a perfect time for brand new dancers to join us! Bring your friends and family!

We will be dancing to recorded music at this event. There will be tea and snacks, as always!

Reminder: Please bring clean, non-scuffing shoes to all dances.

Monthly Dances with Live Music at the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center

Please join us for beginner-friendly Irish set dances at the Wil-Mar on the second Saturday of the month from 2-5pm. Our next dances are on August 12th (music by Rare Privilege) and September 9th (music by Capitol Ceili Band)!

Don't worry if you're not a seasoned set dancer - all dances will be called. We'll be using gender-neutral (raven/lark) terminology. No partner necessary. Please bring clean, non-scuffing shoes and a mug or water bottle!

A suggested donation of $10 contributes to the room rental and music, but no one will be excluded due to inability to pay.

When: Saturdays, August 12th and September 9th, from 2-5pm! If you’re new, come a few minutes early for a quick beginner orientation!

Covid policy: Vaccinations required. Masks welcome but optional. Subject to change based on community health guidelines.
