We're back to our regular second Saturday dances at the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center on May 13th and June 10th from 2-5pm!  

Below, you can find information about (1) the next “brush-up” day on May 11th, (2) the May 13th beginner-friendly set dance at Wil-Mar, and (3) the next beginner basics series.

Brush-up Days

May 11 (Thursday) from 7-9pm in Middleton: We're hosting monthly "brush-up" days to review set dance skills, answer questions, and practice familiar sets.  We're suggesting a donation of $5 for each of these “brush-up” days.  (This is an event for dancers with experience in the basics of set dancing.  If you are brand new, please see below for information on our next beginner course!)

This event will be held at a private residence in Middleton.  Space will be limited, so please email us (MadisonIrishSetDance@gmail.com) if you are interested in attending!

Monthly Dances with Live Music at the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center

Please join us for beginner-friendly Irish set dances at the Wil-Mar on the second Saturday of the month from 2-5pm. Our next dances are on May 13 and June 10!

Don't worry if you're not a seasoned set dancer - all dances will be called. We'll be using gender-neutral (raven/lark) terminology. No partner necessary.  Please bring clean, non-scuffing shoes and a mug or water bottle!

A suggested donation of $10 contributes to the room rental and music, but no one will be excluded due to inability to pay.

When: Saturdays, May 13 and June 10, from 2-5pm! If you’re new, come a few minutes early for a quick beginner orientation!

Covid policy: Vaccinations required. Masks welcome but optional. Subject to change based on community health guidelines.

Set Dance Basics - Beginner Series - LAST CALL!

This is a last call for the May beginner basics series!  If you'd like to attend, please let us know by Wednesday, May 10!

Come learn the basics of set dancing!  Over four classes, we will cover set dance basics and will learn a couple of commonly danced sets, so you can walk onto the dance floor feeling confident.

When: Thursday nights at 7pm, May 18 – June 8

Who: The class is designed for dancers who are new or relatively new to set dancing! All dancers are welcome to join, but class will be paced for beginners. All dances and instruction will use gender-neutral terminology. No partner needed. Children under 16 are welcome, but should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Where: The class will be held in Middleton

The series will culminate with our June 10th dance with live music at the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center. All dances learned in the beginner series will be included on the set list for the June 10th dance! Suggested donation is $40 for this 4-week series. No one will be excluded due to inability to pay.
