The Celtic Cultural Center of Madison presents the annual Irish Language Weekend. This weekend brings together Irish speakers of all levels, from folks who have never heard the language to native speakers. This event is a fun and casual way to get introduced to a very beautiful language, and one that may even have been spoken by your grandparents. In addition to language classes, the weekend will entertain you with music, dancing, and meeting new friends.
This gathering will take place at the Lowell Center on the UW-Madison campus. If you are planning on lodging, it is important that you make your room reservation early. It's not easy to find a room in Madison during football season!
To make a room reservation, please contact the Lowell Center directly by using the "book a room online" link there. Then you will need to click on the option for "Conference or Event Block Reservations". The group number is IRISH. It is imperative that you reserve your room by July 30! We have a block of rooms reserved until that date.
Tuition for this weekend will be $120.00 ($110.00 if you register by Sept. 12, 2009). Tuition will cover all instruction, evening socials, Saturday lunch and dinner, and Sunday lunch. Please note: Friday night meal will be on your own.
If you are not planning on having meals, the cost for the weekend is $50.00.
Full payment is due by September 20, 2009 to guarantee participation.
To register for the weekend, please mail the completed registration form along with payment in full to guarantee your reservation to attend the program. Payment is due by Sept. 20, 2009, unless special arrangements are made by contacting Dineen (dgrow@library.wisc.edu). Checks should be made payable to the Celtic Cultural Center of Madison and mailed to: Celtic Cultural Center, PO Box 260037, Madison WI 53726-0037. Sorry, there are no refunds available after Sept. 20, 2009.
