Free demonstration from 6-8 pm at the Olin Park Pavilion, 1156 Olin-Turville Court.  All are invited to come experience the social dancing of Scotland and enjoy live musical accompaniment.  Audience participation is encouraged, no partner is necessary!  Sponsored by the Friends of Olin-Turville. 22nd Annual Cornish Festival and Celtic Celebration in Mineral Point
2014-Sep-27, Sat.Scottish Country Dancers:

Free demonstration at the Dane County Farmers’ Market on Saturday, September 27, at 10 a.m. at the North Hamilton corner of the Capitol Square.  We invite people of all ages to come see the social dancing of Scotland, enjoy live musical  accompaniment, and try a few dance steps!  

2014-Sep-27, Sat.West Wind (Irish traditional music): West Wind will give a headline concert at the 22nd annual Midwest Cornish Fest in Mineral Point. Come out for the fall colors and stay for the Celtic culture and music. 7-9 pm, details at Cornish Fest site (see calendar entry above).

Janesville Irish Fest is a four-day celebration of the area’s Irish heritage and culture. It offers a uniquely, nontraditional festival experience through hosting events at multiple citywide locations. Local businesses, organizations and nonprofits collaborate together to present Irish-themed music, dance, food and family activities.

2014-Oct-3, Fri.Celtic Cultural Center: Irish Language Immersion weekend! If you have always wanted to learn a few words of Irish- this is your chance! 2014-Oct-4, Sat.Pipers in the Prairie, a fundraiser for the Aldo Leopold Nature Center, with a strong Celtic theme. Irish music by West Wind, Irish step dancing by the Cashel Dennehy school, and later Scottish highland pipes and drums around a spectacular bonfire. Buffet, childrens activities, and more, 4:30-8 pm.

Gerry O'Beirne from Ireland. Singer, songwriter and master of 6 & 12 string guitar. Songs adopted by Andy Irvine, Mary Black, and others, toured with many familiar groups and appeared on "The Prairie Home Companion." You can find him on Kevin Burke’s recordings, “Promenade” & “Up Close” and Patrick Street’s “Irish Times.” 7:30 pm. 2014-Nov-1, Sat.The Tooles (Irish pub music): The Tooles Record! Thanks to our generous fans, we're recording a live show Saturday, November 1st, at the Irish American Heritage Center in Chicago, IL. Celtic Cultural Center: Annual Celtic Film Festival! Marquee Theatre, Union South. This is a two day free event. List of films and descriptions will be added to the CCC's website in a few months, so check back!
